What to include in your inquiry
The more of this you can give us, the less back-and-forth before you get a firm price. If you only have half of it, send what you have — we will ask for the rest.
- · Cladding steel grade (304, 316L, 2205, 825, C-276…) and thickness
- · Base steel grade and total thickness
- · Single-sided or double-sided
- · Size: plate dimensions, or pipe outside diameter and wall thickness
- · Quantity: pieces, square metres, tonnes or metres
- · Minimum order: 4 tonnes per specification — mixed items can be combined
- · Governing standard (GB/T 8165, ASTM A264, API 5LD…)
- · The medium the metal will contact
- · Chloride level and operating temperature
- · Design pressure and whether the metal is sour
- · Surface finish required (No.1, 2B, No.4, 8K, PVD)
- · Delivery port and required date
- · Any documentation or inspection requirement
If you are quoting a tender to your own client, send us the specification section as well as the bill of quantities. We can tell you where the risk sits and where a cheaper material would satisfy the same specification — which is often the difference between winning the job and pricing yourself out of it.
